We believe travel should be an immersive, meaningful experience — not a checklist of sights to tick off.

Slow Compass was born from a simple idea: the best journeys happen when you take your time. We create in-depth destination guides, thoughtful itineraries, and practical resources for travelers who want to connect deeply with the places they visit.
Whether you're planning a month-long sabbatical or a long weekend escape, we provide the tools and inspiration to help you travel with intention, curiosity, and respect for local cultures.
Slow Compass started in 2021 when our founder, Elena, returned from a transformative six-month journey through Southeast Asia. Frustrated by the lack of resources for travelers seeking authentic, non-commercial experiences, she began documenting her own routes and discoveries.
What began as a personal travel journal quickly grew into a community of like-minded explorers. Today, Slow Compass publishes weekly guides, itineraries, and stories from contributors around the world, all united by a shared belief in the power of slow, deliberate travel.
The routes we publish run from coastal walks in Portugal to temple trails in Japan, and every one has been walked before it is written up. The shop carries what came out of that work: city guides, packing checklists, and photo presets.
